Hochstein Expressive Arts Faculty - Kayla Davitt

Instrument/Department: Expressive Arts - Music Therapy

Kayla Davitt graduated from Marywood University in Scranton, PA in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy degree. Her primary instrument in college was trumpet. She completed her internship at Monroe One BOCES in June 2015. She received her MT-BC (music therapist-board certified) certification in August 2015. She has held two music therapy positions at various agencies in the Rochester area before joining the Hochstein family in the summer of 2023.

During her career as a music therapist, Davitt has worked with people ages 4 months to 21 years old. She has experience working with children with developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as with children and teenagers who are medically fragile. She has provided music therapy services in Rochester area schools, preschools, daycares, pediatric centers, and homes. She is passionate about providing musical experiences for infants/toddlers/preschoolers but loves working with all ages!

Davitt is excited to join the Hochstein family and to continue to provide quality music therapy services to the greater Rochester community!

Favorite things to do in Rochester area: Attend touring Broadway shows at the Auditorium Theater, sing in my church choir, try new restaurants with my husband

When I’m not at Hochstein, you can find me: At home snuggling with my cat, shopping, spending time with friends

Favorite place to travel: Outer Banks, NC

Favorite TV Show: Outlander

What people would be surprised to know about me: I love penguins and had the opportunity to meet some at The Wild in Chittenango last fall!
