Kathleen O’Connell is a board-certified music therapist, who received her MT-BC certification in November 2022.
She grew up in Syracuse, NY, where she started her musical journey by performing on the flute with various community ensembles, volunteering to tutor beginner flute players, and organizing a flute ensemble at her school district’s middle school.
After graduating high school, she completed the Music Therapy Program at Nazareth College. O'Connell completed her internship at Mary Cariola where she facilitated individual and group music therapy sessions for an array of students (ages 3-22) with various disabilities.
O’Connell has experience working with adults and children with developmental and intellectual disabilities, medically frail children and teenagers, older adults who experience a TBI, and adults who experience speech-language disorders as a result of a stroke.
She is grateful for all of the knowledge and experience she has gained throughout her education and is eager to implement these skills and provide the best music therapy services for the clients at The Hochstein School.
