Joined Hochstein faculty in: Spring 2022
Kathleen O’Connell graduated from Nazareth College with a B.M. in music therapy in May 2021. As part of her bachelor's program, she will complete her internship at Mary Cariola in June 2022 and then prepare to take her board certification exam.
She grew up in Syracuse, NY, where she started her musical journey by performing on the flute with various community ensembles, volunteering to tutor beginner flute players, and organizing a flute ensemble at her school district’s middle school.
O’Connell has experience working with adults and children with developmental and intellectual disabilities, medically frail children and teenagers, older adults who experience a TBI, and adults who experience speech-language disorders as a result of a stroke.
She is grateful for all of the knowledge and experience she has gained throughout her education and is eager to implement these skills and provide the best music therapy services for the clients at The Hochstein School.
