Hochstein Expressive Arts Faculty - Eliza Shriver

Instrument/Department: Expressive Arts, Music Therapy; Music FUNdamentals
Joined Hochstein faculty in: 2024

Eliza completed her internship here at The Hochstein School in Spring 2024 after attending SUNY Fredonia with majors in Music Therapy, Psychology, and Applied Bassoon. She is the former Vice President of the regional Association of Music Therapy Students, a Jenny Shinn Memorial Internship Scholar, and a member of Psy Chi, The International Honors Society in Psychology.

She has performed in a variety of bands, orchestras, chamber ensembles, and an experimental improvisation group. Throughout her clinical training, she has led groups in early intervention, schools, residential centers, and hospitals/nursing facilities. She also works individually with children and adults, supporting a wide range of therapeutic goals and music learning.

Eliza enjoys playing bassoon in community ensembles, dabbling in arts and crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.

As a child, she participated in Music FUNdamentals and choral ensembles at Hochstein and is thrilled to return as a member of the Expressive Arts Team!
