Celebration of the Piano III

Hochstein piano faculty members will join together on Thursday, April 24, from 7:00-8:00pm, for Celebration of the Piano III,  a Spotlight on Faculty concert featuring music for 1-piano, 1-hand to 4-piano, 16-hands.  Program highlights will include:  Scriabin Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 for the Left Hand, Schubert-Liszt Soiree de Vienne No. 6, Ginastera Danza de la Moza Donosa (solo piano); J.S. Bach “Brandenburg” Concerto No. 3 in G Major and Dvorak Slavonic Dance No. 8 in G Minor (2-piano, 8-hands); Latin duets for 2-piano, 4-hands.  

A special highlight is a performance of George Faust’s Five Variations on an Original Theme performed by Jane Faust, the composer’s wife.  The exciting concert finale will be “Gallop, Gallop, Gallop,” a special arrangement of famous, horse-riding-inspired tunes (including Kabalevsky's Comedian’s Gallop, Rossini's William Tell Overture and Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld) for 8 Pianists (arranged by Hochstein adult student, Tom Acquaviva).  

Performers will include pianists Paula Bobb, Wenqing Bouche-Pillon, Yi-Wen Chang, Richard Delaney, Jane Faust, Doleen Hood, Gary Palmer, and Lourdes Santiesteban

Tickets (available at the door) are $5 individual/$10 family, and admission is free to current Hochstein families. There will be a reception following the performance.
