Have you always wanted to learn how to play the bagpipes, but you weren't sure where to go? Look no further! The sounds of the Scottish Highlands are alive at Hochstein! In this introductory course, you will learn how to read music, play the practice chanter, and learn basic tunes that are played by massed bands worldwide.
Please note that this course features playing the practice chanter, and is the first step to playing the Highland Bagpipes. Kilts not required!
NOTE: All students will need to purchase a McCallum PC4 Long Length Plastic Practice Chanter. The instruction book will be available for purchase at the 1st class.
Fee: $20 registration fee, $180 per 9-week session. For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, the reduced tuition is $135 per session.
This class runs for the full year. In order to maximize your technical advancement, it is recommended you enroll for all sessions. Full year tuition (starting in Quarter 2) is $540 payable in quarterly installments of $180 per 9-week session. For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, reduced tuition is $405, payable in quarterly installments of $135. (Fees are as of Fall 2024.)
