It’s National “Love Your Pet Day” on Thursday, February 20, so we asked Hochstein faculty and staff to send in photos of themselves and their companion animals. Dogs outnumbered cats this year, and there are even chickens and a hedgehog!
Here are some pictures of our people and their pets – see the captions below for who is in each picture.
Hochstein’s resident therapy dog, Bailey, is here in two pictures. Erica Meister brings Bailey in regularly and she makes the rounds, visiting with everyone in the office. Bailey is a 3-year-old chocolate lab and Erica’s other dog, Luna, is a 7-month-old dark chocolate lab. Bailey is a sweet smart girl; her sister Luna prefers to live life to the fullest. They are the best of friends and do everything together.
Megan Kemp sent in a picture with her dog Mocha, who she describes as a “Pitbeagleab” – a combination of Pitbull, Beagle, and Labrador. Mocha will be 2 on March 2 and is definitely still a baby and quite the handful!
Allison Maney shared pictures of her hedgehog Cecelia – who was just 7 weeks old when she adopted her. Cecelia is the baby of one of Nancy Johnston’s hedgehogs.
Gwen Green sent in a picture of her dog Opie and says that he ‘sings’ along whenever Gwen or her husband practices!
Sandra Boysen Sluberski shared a picture of two Silkie chicks – Chandra and Chip – who make a perfect heart shape. They are just two of her 20 chickens, including six that hatched this past week.
Janice Hanson’s tortoiseshell cat, Cara, is now 19 years old and though she has slowed down a bit and is on several medications, still is the same sweet kitty who loves to snuggle.
Bob Avery’s big dog, Shamus, stares out the window looking for deer in the state forest across the street.
