On April 6, the Hochstein Youth Guitar Quartet – led by Dr. Timothy Shannon – performed at the Little Theatre, before a concert by French guitar phenomenon Thomas Viloteau. The concert was part of the weekend-long Rochester Classical Guitar Festival.
Tim says, “We played two Celtic tunes (Blind Mary and Kitty O’Brian) and two Renaissance tunes: Chanson by Claude Sermisy and Allemande by John Dowland.”
The Youth Guitar Quartet includes:
– Henry Miranda (6th grade, Rogers Middle School, Irondequoit)
– Corwin Hull (4th grade, French Road Elementary School, Brighton)
– Eden Scott (5th grade, homeschooled)
– Krishna Vijay, (7th grade, Calkins Road Middle School, Pittsford)
Timothy Shannon and fellow Hochstein guitar instructor Shiuen-Huang Suen – who were recently featured on Hochstein’s Spotlight on Faculty series – also performed during the Rochester Classical Guitar Festival. They were part of Classical Guitar Night at the Little on April 7, which featured local musicians.
