Congratulations to Hochstein student Joshua Lin, who was named second place in NY state in the OPUS Music Competition, which is held nationwide with winners selected by instrument and age category within each state. He played Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G major for his audition.
A 6th-grader at Victor Intermediate School, Joshua studies violin with Marcos Kreutzer and is in the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra. He is also a Hochstein Merit Scholar.
His family tells us that the exceptional support provided by Hochstein’s violin program has directly contributed to Joshua’s recent accomplishment, adding that it “motivates him to practice diligently both at school and at home.”
Kudos, Joshua, on your hard work!
