In Remembrance of our Veterans

In Remembrance of our Veterans

On Veterans Day, we remember our veterans – including David Hochstein, the young man who gave up an extremely promising career to fight for our country and inspired the creation of The Hochstein School.

In 1917, David enlisted in the army during World War I and was assigned to the Infantry Division. Soon after going to the front line, Second Lieutenant David Hochstein – at the age of 26 – was tragically killed in the Battle of Argonne in October 1918. More than 100 years later, his legacy continues on with our school.

As a member of the nationwide event “Bells of Peace: A World War I Remembrance” – organized by the Doughboy Foundation – Hochstein will commemorate David’s service with a special ceremony on our front steps.

Please join us on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month (Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 am), to honor all those who served and sacrificed in WWI and all our veterans who bravely served our country.

Veterans-Day_2021111...Our special commemoration of Veterans Day includes:

  • A bell ringing at 11:00 am
  • A moment of silence
  • Taps played by Hochstein staff member, Bruce Aldridge, on trumpet

And we will be joined by the Northeast High School JROTC Color Guard.

Thank you to all veterans for your service.
