Hello, Hochstein!
I write to you on the eve of one of my favorite days of the year – a holiday that embodies above all a feeling of community. Thanksgiving, like Hochstein, is for all of us.
It’s been a busy fall, and I have loved meeting you as I journey through the amazing cacophony of everyday happenings here. From the beat of dance classes directly above my office, to the smiles and giggles of toddlers after a Music FUNdamentals class, to the gorgeous sounds coming from rehearsals, coachings, and lessons throughout our buildings – every sound is precious and energizing. And as I hear conversations happening in the hallways, I am constantly reminded of the special community within these walls, and how grateful I am to be part of it.
But the magic isn’t just inside these walls! Our Hochstein family extends outward and this fall I have been fortunate to meet many of our community partners. We’re thrilled to offer early childhood classes at the Carlson and Northwest YMCAs, and to bring an array of music, dance, and Expressive Arts activities to Hub585, RCSD School 19, Nativity Preparatory Academy, and Joseph Avenue Arts and Cultural Alliance (JAACA). We’re deeply grateful to these partners as they help extend our reach to children and youth throughout Rochester.

As we grow our Hochstein family, I am inspired by the exceptional work of our students, faculty, and staff, and the generosity of our volunteers and supporters. All of you are essential to us, and because of you, we thrive. Truly, you are Hochstein!
With all that happens here, we hope to share it with you – please join us! The renovated Performance Hall is a wonderful place to be and there are concerts all the time – either presented by us or by one of our cultural partners. Please join us!
