Hochstein faculty and staff celebrate “Love Your Pet Day”

It’s National “Love Your Pet Day” on February 20, so we asked Hochstein faculty and staff to send in photos of themselves and their companion animals. Lots of cats, dogs, and even chickens!

Voice instructor Elizabeth Lind tells us that her black and white cat Neville is “very proud of himself and definitely LOVES to walk across the piano keys, so he is kind of my pianist!”

Assistant Director & Dean Gary Palmer sent in a photo with his two dogs, Lucky (12) and Sofia (11), and his cat Oliver (13). He says, “You have no idea how difficult it was to get all three of them in one picture!”

Violin instructor Katie Worley took a picture with her cat Sparkle. She says, “He originally belonged to neighbors two houses down but he escaped every chance he got and chose to come live with me. Maybe he likes the violin music coming from my house...”

Health screener Dave Townsend sent in a photo of his three cats – Nick, Molly, and Max – who seem happy to pose for the camera.

Marketing & Communications Manager Debbie Tretter provided a photo of her cat, Kiki, who was helping out in her home office.

Marketing & Communications Associate Janice Hanson submitted a picture with her two cats, Cara and Max, who were keeping her company during an online singing session.

Voice and yoga instructor Sandra Boysen Sluberski says her three Silkie hens – Janie, Speckle, and Cotton – are super friendly and love being carried around and cuddled.

Violin instructor Pia Liptak named her two cats Oberon (“Obi,” the black cat pictured in the collage) and Titania (“Tanni,” below) after the queen and the king of the fairies in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” She also has several “grand” pets, including a tiny kitten, Moon Pie – who was rescued from inside a car wheel by her daughter and her husband – and a Saint Bernard named Woody. They make quite a pair given the difference in size!

It’s safe to say that the folks at Hochstein do indeed love their pets…
