Kudos to Hochstein Youth Singer Luciano Pagano, who sang the boy soprano solo in Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” with the RPO and Rochester Oratorio Society, directed by Ward Stare, this past weekend at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre.
Thirteen-year-old Luciano is a seventh grader at McQuaid Jesuit Preparatory School in Brighton, NY where his favorite subject is social studies.
This is his fifth year singing with Hochstein Youth Singers, directed by Maryellen Giese. Previously Luciano sang in the Hochstein Little Singers directed by Alice Pratt. This past October, Lucci began private voice lessons with Dr. Sandra Boysen Sluberski here at the Hochstein School. He's pictured here backstage with all three of his teachers.
Lucci has performed in multiple American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Division Honor Choirs. In 2016, Luciano sang Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms with the Rochester Oratorio Society directed by Dr. Eric Townell, and again with the Geneseo Festival Chorus and Orchestra directed by Jim Tiller.
In addition to singing, he enjoys playing Chili Travel Soccer and chess. Lucci's biggest fan is, of course, his mother Mia!
Here are some photos of the occasion thanks to Blair Hornbuckle, HYS parent.
