Elizabeth Teta graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy. Teta completed her music therapy internship at The Hochstein School from September 2016 to June 2017. After completing her music therapy internship, she joined the expressive arts department at Hochstein as a music therapist in July 2017.
Teta has provided music therapy to a variety of populations including adults and children with developmental disabilities, individuals with mental illness, and children and adolescents with various medical conditions. She specializes in working with older adults suffering from Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Teta has provided music therapy in a variety of settings including nursing homes, day programs for individuals with multiple disabilities, psychiatric hospitals, and a woman’s homeless shelter. She is very passionate about using music to heal and to help in whatever ways possible and is excited to continue this at Hochstein.

What inspires me: Seeing how music and the arts can impact such a wide variety of people.
Why the arts matter: The arts offer so many different ways of expressing ourselves and offer a way to connect with so many different people.
Favorite things to do in Rochester area: Go hiking or running and attending concerts and shows.
When I’m not at Hochstein, you can find me: Usually anywhere outdoors!

Favorite composer: Eric Whitacre is currently one of my favorite composers
