Diane Smith is a member of the flute section of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and a founding member of the Antara Winds woodwind quintet which performs extensively in the Rochester area including for Public Radio on the Live from Hochstein series. She has also performed with Rochester Oratorio Society, Rochester Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Broadway Theatre League, Mercury Opera, Lyric Opera, Skaneateles Festival, the Syracuse Symphony, the Erie Philharmonic and Erie Ballet.

Ms. Smith teaches flute and chamber music at The Hochstein School and Roberts Wesleyan College. At Hochstein, she also serves as Coordinator of Ensembles and Co-Chairperson of the Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion Department. Her awards include the 1995 Hochstein Faculty Service Award and the 1996 Rochester Philharmonic League Fanfare Award for Education. 

Ms. Smith received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Performance from the Eastman School of Music where she studied with Joseph Mariano.
