Hochstein Percussion Faculty - Connor Stevens

Connor Stevens is a percussionist currently based in Rochester, New York. He has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles, including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and Eastman Broadband.

As a founding member of Frozen Earth Duo, alongside percussionist Brant Blackard, Stevens has performed and presented at several colleges and universities, including Florida State University, University of South Carolina, Virginia Commonwealth University, and University of Central Arkansas. The duo has also performed and presented at the 2018 Leigh Howard Stevens Summer Marimba Seminar, Interlochen Arts Academy, 2019 Ontario Day of Percussion, 2017 McCormick Marimba Festival, and the 2016 Atlanta Percussion Symposium.

As an active teacher, Stevens worked in various school districts in the Atlanta, Georgia, area, teaching individual lessons, marching percussion, percussion ensemble, and band/orchestra sectional coaching.

Stevens is currently a doctoral candidate at the Eastman School of Music, and holds a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from Florida State University and a Master of Music in Percussion Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. He is an artist/endorser for Malletech instruments and mallets.
