The Hochstein School’s Live from Hochstein concert series returns this fall with a new lineup of free noontime performances beginning Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and continuing weekly through December 16, 2026. Concerts take place from 12:10–12:50 p.m. in the Hochstein Performance Hall and are open to the public at no charge.

These concerts are presented in partnership with WXXI and broadcast live on WXXI Classical 91.5 and rebroadcast at 10 p.m. the day of the concert. The Hochstein School is grateful to Sidney & Barbara Sobel for generously providing continuous underwriting support for Live from Hochstein since 1993.

From the intimate voices of the Baroque era to the vibrant colors and nuanced language of early twentieth-century music, virtuosic and expressive pianist Jiao Sun invites you on a profound and evocative musical journey. This concert unfolds as a gallery of vivid sound portraits—interweaving reflective, delicate melodies with moments of brilliance, virtuosity, and expressive depth. Through contrasting eras and musical landscapes, each work becomes a glimpse of light emerging through the stillness of winter.

Whether you are tuning in during a midday lunch break in search of a moment of beauty and reflection, or you are a lifelong classical music enthusiast, this captivating program offers something to savor, discover, and remember. Join us for an enchanting solo piano celebration, and let the music illuminate your winter afternoon!
