Ivy Dulysz is a music therapist from Amsterdam, NY. Their musical journey began at age three in music therapy and musical enrichment services after they were diagnosed with Autism. Since then, Ivy has played classical, theatre, and jazz piano, clarinet, and auxiliary percussion for her hometown community. She has also made it her life’s mission to empower disabled and neurodivergent individuals through activism in her local communities, which inspired her to volunteer with her district’s special education department.
Ivy went on to attain a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Therapy from Nazareth University, where they also minored in Psychology, Gerontology, and Cognitive Neuropsychology. Afterwards, Ivy completed her music therapy internship at The Hochstein School, where she began developing tools and methods to teach her clients self-advocacy skills through music.
Ivy works with disabled and neurodivergent students of all ages, where they continue to incorporate individualized empowerment in each session. They’re overjoyed to return to the Hochstein team!
