Doleen Hood

Doleen Hood received a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she was an Accompanying Fellow and recipient of the Gwendolyn Koldofsky Award in Accompanying, and earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (summa cum laude) from the D’Angelo School of Music. Her extensive work as a collaborative pianist and coach has included the Dale Warland Singers, Annapolis and Baltimore operas, Paul Hill Chorale and Washington Singers, Baltimore Chamber Chorale, Chesapeake Chorale, Heifetz Institute, and studio work at the Eastman School of Music and the Peabody Institute.

As a performer, Hood has been featured on recitals and concert series throughout the United States and Europe, and she has held faculty and staff positions at Bethel College, Crown College, the MacPhail School, and Nazareth College. She joined the Hochstein School faculty in 1999, where she received the 2003-04 Faculty Service Award and also served as the Dean from 2001-04. Hood is very active as a collaborative pianist in the greater Rochester area and performs regularly on Hochstein’s “Spotlight on Faculty” and “Live from Hochstein” concerts. Her teaching focus includes adult students, chamber music coaching, and Music for Little Mozarts group piano classes.
