Junior Wind Symphony
About This Ensemble
An opportunity for motivated junior high students to broaden their wind band experience. The program includes an intensive 6-week rehearsal schedule, followed by a final concert on October 24 at 7:30 pm. Open to woodwind, brass, and percussion students entering grades 7 and 8 in September 2026.

Audition Details
The recommended minimum NYSSMA levels are as follows:
Level 4: piccolo, flute, oboe, alto saxophone, snare drum
Level 3: clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, tenor and baritone saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion (keyboard and timpani)
To be considered for first chair placement in a section, please submit a digital recording indicative of the student’s current playing level (maximum length of 10 minutes).
