Chamber Music Connection Youth Honors Scholarship Ensembles
About This Ensemble
Students that demonstrate artistic excellence are encouraged to audition for a scholarship ensemble. Recipients in these high-level ensembles receive merit scholarships and must meet performance and attendance requirements throughout the year. They will demonstrate dedication and leadership within the CMC program. Upon confirmation, scholarship students will receive specific registration information and curriculum requirements. An individual-lesson teacher recommendation is required for consideration. Current scholarship musicians are not required to re-apply for the upcoming year.

Audition Details
All applicants must include a YouTube link (this link can be unlisted, but should not be private) or a link to a video of their playing that has been uploaded to Google Drive or Dropbox on their online application to ensure the best possible group placement. Repertoire should include two short pieces of contrasting style or one piece with contrasting sections of 3-5 minutes total. Accompaniment is not required, and videos do not need to be formal or professional (a simple recording made at home is acceptable).
In addition to completing the CMC Youth Program Application Form, new students who would like to audition for an honors scholarship ensemble must provide a letter of recommendation from their individual-lesson teacher. Letters should be sent directly to chamber@hochstein.org with the subject heading “CMC Scholarship Recommendation”. Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on audition video review as well as teacher recommendation.
