An engaging pianist with “dignified and mature approach” (Third Coast Review), Huiping Cai is renowned for her lyricism, musicality, and formidable technique. She has won numerous awards in competitions, including the First Prize and Audience Award at the 2023 New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition. She also received first prizes at the 2022 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition; the 2019 Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, Connecticut; the 2018 Miami Music Festival Piano Concerto Competition; and the 2017 Philadelphia International Piano Competition.
Huiping made her Carnegie Hall debut at the Weill Recital Hall and Stern Auditorium Perelman Stage with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in 2023. She has performed piano concertos with the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong VTC Symphony Orchestra, Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra, Kazakhstan National Symphony Orchestra, Miami Music Festival Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and Temple University Symphony Orchestra. Huiping has also been a featured piano soloist on Philadelphia’s WRTI radio, Florida’s classical WSMR, and WFMT’s Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts in Chicago.
Huiping is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, serving as a Teaching Assistant for Alan Chow while also pursuing a Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying & Chamber Music with Dr. Andrew Harley. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and Music Theory from Temple University and her Master of Music from the New England Conservatory where she studied with Dang Thai Son and held a Teaching Assistantship.
