Cassie completed her music therapy internship here at The Hochstein School before joining as a member of the Expressive Arts Department in 2025. She attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee for her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy, where she played in the symphonic orchestra and wind ensemble as a French horn primary. During her undergraduate program, Cassie taught private lessons, tutored music theory, and led an organization dedicated to uplifting supportive peer relationships with disabled adults through music, building her passion further for adaptive lessons and music therapy. Since beginning piano lessons as a child, Cassie has deeply enjoyed exploring a variety of instruments, including brass, guitar, voice, electric bass, and drumset.
In Nashville, Cassie advocated for increased access to music therapy services by testifying in front of the state legislative body and serving as the Student Liaison to the Tennessee Music Therapy Task Force, an organization dedicated to the establishment of music therapy licensure. Throughout her clinical training, Cassie worked with individuals one to one hundred years of age, facilitating music therapy sessions in schools, assisted living, hospitals, group homes, and other community sites. She loves both individual and group sessions, centering and affirming her clients with compassion. Cassie is so excited to continue this work through The Hochstein School as a part of the Expressive Arts team, and to learn even more about this incredible community!
