Marcos Kreutzer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy from the University of New Mexico. Marcos is also a Suzuki Association of the Americas certified teacher.
In addition to many years of teaching and conducting in his native Brazil, Marcos taught at the Lab School at the University of New Mexico and at the Rio Grande Suzuki Association in Albuquerque, NM. He is currently the Co-Chair of the String Department and Director of the Suzuki Program at The Hochstein School where he teaches private and group classes in violin and viola and also directs the Hochstein Concertino Strings orchestra. Marcos is a founding member of a Suzuki in the Schools based program at the Rochester Prep Charter Schools in Rochester, NY.
As a performer, Marcos played in the Theatro São Pedro Chamber Orchestra for over a decade and toured Latin America with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Mercosur. He was a regular guest violinist with the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra and the FUNDARTE Chamber Orchestra.
