Have you ever wanted to be a part of an esteemed symphony orchestra or join an ensemble? If so, you have come to the right place. Hochstein’s ensemble program draws from a rich history that started with the original Hochstein String Quartet in the 1920s and has grown into the comprehensive program in existence today.
Whether your passion is orchestral, wind, or vocal music, Hochstein has a place for you. Our program includes four student orchestras (including HYSO), three wind symphonies/bands, two vocal ensembles, jazz combos, and a myriad of chamber and instrument-specific ensembles. Ensemble experiences not only take students’ musical skills to the next level, but they instill confidence while building collaborative skills and camaraderie among our students.
The Hochstein Orchestra and Chamber Music Programs are supported in part by the Louise Alfreda Hill Memorial Fund. Hochstein programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
