Worry-free Summer Enrollment

At Hochstein, we understand that it’s difficult to plan ahead during these uncertain times.

One thing we DO know is that Summer is right around the corner! We want to let you know that you can easily plan for your summer of music or dance – or both – by taking advantage of our Worry-Free Enrollment plan.

What does that mean? Enrolling now under our Worry-Free Enrollment plan will mean that you can:

  • Ensure guaranteed placement in your favorite camps, classes, or lessons
  • Cancel your enrollment with no additional fees right up to two business days before the start of your camp, class, or workshop *
  • Transfer your enrollment by choosing online summer options or enrolling for Fall 2020

While we cannot predict the future – oh how we wish we could! – we can say that whatever the summer may bring, we will have options available to make your summertime an exciting one filled with music and dance.

* cancellation date for the first week will be Wednesday, July 2 because of the holiday weekend.

Online Individual Instruction - Summer

NOTE: Classes at Hochstein are now being offered virtually. Online instruction with Hochstein is easy! To find out more about the technical requirements, click here.

WHETHER YOU’RE A CHILD OR AN ADULT, individual instruction is the most effective way to make significant progress in musical skills. Lessons are available in all orchestral instruments—as well as piano, harp, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, percussion, and Suzuki violin, viola, cello, and flute—and can be scheduled on weekdays and evenings. All our individual lessons are customized to each student to ensure personal success! (see below on how to register)

Because a certain degree of physical development is essential to playing an instrument, or singing, Hochstein subscribes to the following minimum age requirements:

Composition (including Songwriting), age 12

Guitar, age 5

Harp, age 9 (some prior piano study preferred)

Percussion (including drum set), age 9

Piano*, age 5

Suzuki Strings, age 3

Traditional Strings, age 7

Voice, age 12

Wind instruments, age 9

*Acoustic piano (or a digital piano with 88 full-size, weighted keys) in the home is required for piano lessons.

How to Register: Individual instruction is arranged by visiting our Individual Lesson Inquiry page and filling out our online form. (click here

Following the receipt of the form, a phone consultation with a member of our Dean staff will ensure that each student is matched with an appropriate teacher who tailors instruction to best fit their needs and goals.

All new students pay a non-refundable $10 summer registration fee (maximum 2 fees per family). The $10 summer registration fee is waived for students already enrolled in individual lessons and classes during the 2019-2020 school year.

For children enrolled in individual lessons, families pay a six-week reduced fee of only $36 for either one Music FUNdamentals or one Children’s Dance class, and reduced fees for Music Theory courses. Adults qualify for reduced fees for some Workshops, Ensembles, Music Theory, and Dance.
