Dominic Marini is a freelance percussionist and music educator in the Rochester, NY area. Originally from Fairport, Dominic earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from West Virginia University. While at WVU, he was exposed to many different types of world music, including the opportunity to study percussion in Recife, Brazil. Dominic also holds his Orff Level 1 certification, in early childhood music, from the Eastman School of Music. Along with world/hand percussion, Dominic is well versed in teaching and performing orchestral percussion (snare drum, timpani, mallets, etc) as well as drum set.
In the local music scene, Dominic can be seen playing with his European-touring, Rochester-based folk-rock band Seth Faergolzia's MULTIBIRD. This four-piece band is also part of a larger ensemble, known as 23 Psaegz, which boasts a full horn section. He also plays in the long-standing Americana/folk band The Fakers.
In addition to performing locally and teaching at Hochstein, Dominic was appointed to the band director position in Victor, NY, at their Intermediate School (4th-6th grade), where he teaches percussion, brass and general music.
