Live from Hochstein – The Suen-Kam Guitar Duo

The duo plays music from the 17th to 20th centuries for two guitars. The program includes selections from Enrique Granados’ Danza Española, Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Pièces de clavecin, Fernando Sor’s L’Encouragement, Franz Schubert’s Ständchen, and Stanley Myers’ “Cavatina” from the film The Deer Hunter.

A dedicated teacher and active performer, Taiwan-born guitarist Shiuen-Huang Suen is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and teaches guitar at The Hochstein School.

Kenneth Kam is a Hong Kong guitarist and lutenist who is based in Rochester, New York. He is an adjunct lecturer at SUNY Brockport and on the guitar faculty at the Eastman Community Music School. He is a doctoral candidate at the Eastman School of Music under the guidance of Paul O’Dette and Nicholas Goluses.

* Masks and vaccination are encouraged but not required. Please note that only bottled water is allowed in the newly renovated hall.
