As the nation celebrates the centennial of a woman’s right to vote, Ekstasis celebrates women’s creativity with a program called “Women’s Voices: Fierce women composers from the 19th and 20th Centuries.” The concert includes works by Louise Farrenc, Clara Schumann, and Ethel Smyth, and song transcriptions of Nina Simone.
The American cellist and Israeli pianist first met as students at Juilliard. As a duo, they celebrate masterpieces alongside the secret jewels of lesser-known works. https://www.ekstasisduo.com/
The Hochstein School’s free lunchtime “brown bag” Live from Hochstein concert series takes place in the Hochstein Performance Hall and is broadcast live on WXXI Classical 91.5/ 90.3 FM, hosted by Classical 91.5’s Mona Seghatoleslami.
