Event summary
During the 19th century, piano transcriptions became an important way to bring large-scale works to the general public. In this concert, we will hear transcriptions of symphony, opera, concerto, and an orchestral work all performed on a single piano.
Event details

Selections include Tchaikovsky’s Polonaise from "Eugene Onegin," Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1, Romance from Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1, and Ravel’s "La Valse" with transcriptions by Franz Liszt and Maurice Ravel, among others.

Featuring: Yi-Wen Chang, piano

Admission at the door is $10 per person, with a $20 family maximum. Concerts are free to Hochstein students/families, faculty, and staff.

A “meet the artists” reception follows the concert.
