Tyler Cassidy-Heacock created the event Halloween Zumbathon to benefit Hochstein Expressive Arts

Dance for a cause at this annual fundraiser benefiting the Hochstein Expressive Arts program! 


Zumba teachers lead continuous sessions from noon to 4 p.m. at the Eastridge High School Varsity Gym, 2350 Ridge Rd East in Rochester. Admission is $10 -- wear your Halloween costume and get ready for an afternoon of prizes, raffles, and fun.

Musica Spei (Music of Hope) celebrates 20 years with a concert of favorite choral masterworks of the Medieval and Renaissance periods. The 16 singers in Musica Spei perform unconducted, interacting with one another in performance to bring this ancient music to vivid life.

Guitarist Petar Kodzas presents music of Bach, Giuliani, Torroba, and Gnattali. Kodzas is a noted performer and educator, currently acting as Assistant Professor of Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music, Community Outreach Program Coordinator, and Senior Instructor in Guitar at the Eastman Community Music School.

Tyler Cassidy-Heacock created the event Mark Kellogg and Priscilla Yuen - Live From Hochstein

Mark Kellogg, trombone, and Priscilla Yuen, piano, present American Music for trombone and piano. 

Kellogg is principal trombonist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and an instructor at the Eastman School of Music. Yuen is staff pianist at the Eastman School of Music and instructor of piano at RIT.

HochStrings, Hochstein's adult string ensemble, presents Romantic Melodies under the direction of Pia Liptak. Join string musicians for a concert of music by Brahms, Haydn, Pierné, Holst, and Lully. The concert is free and open to the public, and takes place in the Hochstein Chapel at 50 N. Plymouth St.

Tyler Cassidy-Heacock created the event New Music for Violin & Piano Concert

Student violinist and piano duos perform new compositions by young composers! This concert is a culmination of a semester-long program facilitated by Hochstein faculty Pia Liptak and ECMS faculty Howard Spindler, which gives beginning and intermediate musicians a unique opportunity to learn and premiere new music with support and feedback from the composers of that music. 

Teachers, families, other faculty, and the public are invited to hear as these young musicians premiere new works. The "New Music for Violin and Piano by Young Composers for Young performers" project is a collaboration between the Hochstein School and the Eastman Community Music School.

Tyler Cassidy-Heacock created the event New Music for Violin & Piano Masterclass

Student violinist and piano duos will be coached in their performances of new compositions by the young composers who wrote them! This masterclass, facilitated by Hochstein faculty Pia Liptak and ECMS faculty Howard Spindler, gives beginning and intermediate musicians a unique opportunity to learn and premiere new music with support and feedback from the composers of that music. Teachers, families, other faculty, and the public are invited to hear as these young musicians ask questions and learn more about their unique duets.

This masterclass is a part of the "New Music for Violin and Piano by Young Composers for Young performers" project, a collaboration between the Hochstein School and the Eastman Community Music School directed by Pia Liptak and Howard Spindler. The project will culminate in two performances of the new works as well as a print edition of the music.
