Music Camp for Grown-Ups!
Paula Bobb, Director
9 weeks only, September 16-November 11
Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 pm
Who says camp is just for kids and only during the summer? Do you love music and want to learn more about it, but are afraid to take the plunge? Concerned that you don't know enough, are too old (impossible!), or you can't because you don't have an instrument or don't want to practice? How about a fun, stress-free, come-as-you-are music-learning experience that is just for adults? Explore the wonderful world of music through creative experiences and explorations and learn the basics of music reading, listening to music, and feeling musical rhythms to enhance your enjoyment of this universal language. No instrument is needed! This camp is designed for beginners with little or no musical experience. Just bring your playful spirit!
FEE: $8 registration fee; $99* tuition.
NEW! Positive Performing through Emotional Freedom Technique
Paula Bobb, Instructor
Thursday, November 18, 7:00-8:30 pm
June 21-25, Monday-Friday/ 3:00-5:00 pm
Your heart races, your palms sweat, your legs shake, your mind blanks (or incessantly tells you that "you're going to blow it"), and you look at the piano as if you have never seen it before. Or maybe your student would rather die than perform, or plays well at the lesson but falls apart on stage. Are any of these symptoms or scenarios familiar to you or your students? Then take advantage of a technique that is easy to learn, easy to use and, with sufficient practice, could shift, reduce, or even eliminate the symptoms of performance anxiety! Come to an introduction to Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a cutting-edge form of "emotional or psychological acupuncture" where we use our fingertips to tap on meridian points along our subtle energy pathways, instead of inserting needles. If enough students are interested, there is a possibility for a longer-term class offering on this topic.
FEE: $8 registration fee; $125* tuition.
