Since 1920, Hochstein School of Music & Dance has served as Rochester's community school of the arts--welcoming and nurturing students of all ages, all levels of skill, and all background--regardless of financial means. Each year more than 4,000 students attend Hochstein. They enjoy an exceptional 140-member faculty, individualized programs, unique ensemble and performance opportunities, a renovated, climate-controlled facility, and a reasonable fee schedule with financial assistance options.

Hochstein in the Community. Hochstein School serves as a community center for Greater Rochester. Located in the heart of the city, and now in the Finger Lakes Region in Canandaigua, Hochstein offers a place to work and collaborate with colleagues, students and audiences. Each member of the Hochstein population has access to our 100-seat Hilda D. Taylor Recital Hall and our 857-seat elegantly renovated Performance Hall, in which recitals and performances are regular occurrences. Opening in the Fall 2010 will be a new nine-station Music Lab for training in music software.
