Hochstein Brass Faculty - Diana Chase

Instrument/Department: Trumpet

Originally from Zelienople, Pennsylvania (a suburb of Pittsburgh), Diana Chase holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Western Illinois University, and her Music Education Certification from Nazareth College. While at Western Illinois University, she was the graduate assistant for the trumpet studio and played second trumpet in the Lamoine Brass Quintet, comprised of faculty members from WIU.

She has performed as a regular member of the Quincy Symphony (principal trumpet), Knox-Galesburg Symphony (third trumpet), Salina Community Theater (principal trumpet), and the Salina Symphony (principal trumpet). She also has played in various ensembles throughout the United States and Europe, including the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca in Lucca, Italy; the Lausitzer Opernsommer in Cottbus, Germany; River City Brass Band; Wichita Grand Opera; Wichita Symphony Orchestra; Penfield Symphony Orchestra; Greater Rochester Women’s Philharmonic; Rochester Chamber Orchestra; and the ECMS Music Educators Wind Ensemble.

Also an active teacher, Diana has been on faculty at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo., and has taught private lessons and master classes to students of all ages throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Kansas, and New York. She is currently teaching Symphonic Band and Music Theory at Canandaigua Academy in the Canandaigua City School District.
