Spotlight on Faculty – Baroque Strings

This program of Baroque music includes works by Vivaldi, Kapsberger, Castello, Senaillé, and Couperin.
Event details

The program includes two works by Vivaldi – his Concerto in D Major, written for lute but performed here on guitar, and his Cello Sonata No. 3, performed here on cello, harpsichord, and theorbo. The theorbo is a plucked string instrument of the lute family, with an extra-long neck and two sets of tuning pegs. The program also includes Pièces en Concert by French composer and Versailles organist, François Couperin; sonatas by Kapsberger and Castello, both performed on theorbo; and the lively Allegro Spiritoso by Senaillé.

Featuring: Warner Iversen, theorbo and guitar; Kathleen Murphy Kemp, cello; Joseph Werner, harpsichord; Aika Ito, violin; Megan Kemp, violin.

(Please note that the repertoire and musician roster has changed since this concert was first announced) 

Admission at the door is $10 per person, with a $20 family maximum. Concerts are free to Hochstein students/families, faculty, and staff.

A “meet the artists” reception follows the concert.
